Power Supply Electronics Engineer

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • This person would assist with supplier issues, designing equipment for production use, modifications on released products, performing root cause analysis.
  • Would perform necessary functional and qualification tests on products as part of the engineering design cycle.
  • Identify and qualify new/alternate circuit components for both new and existing designs, bench test and validate selections, present results and recommendations.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date BOM, schematic, assembly drawing and related documentations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • 3 plus years experience in SMPS with a BSEE from an accredited university or 8 years of similar experience without a degree.
  • Practical lab skills required, including the use of test equipment and hand tools.
  • Necessary to have excellent written, oral documentation, presentation skills.
  • Must communicate effectively with peers.
  • Must be flexible in adapting to change in work load and responsibilities.
  • Like to work in a fast paced environment.
  • A plus to be self motivated but able to take direction.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others and support company goals.

Embedded Software Engineer

Main Purpose of Job

The Embedded Software Engineer will design code and test features for sustaining releases for products which include both hardware and software components. This includes testing embedded software based on product documentation, and datasheets; and documenting test results.

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Developing embedded software in C for 8/16/32 bit processors, using small embedded OS.
  • Troubleshooting problems which have been reporting using tools debuggers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Communicate project/issue status in a reliable and accurate manner through appropriate tools and processes.
  • Review, adapt, create, and document development support systems.
  • Support hardware engineering test and development team support by creating software tools or tests.
  • Understanding of technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to reproduce, solve and qualify a problem

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor degree in computer/engineering related field or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with typical laboratory test equipment (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, emulator/debugger, etc)
  • Proven ability to execute in all phases of the embedded software development life cycle, resulting in high-quality software, delivered on time.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner, seeking out areas that need attention, rather than being asked to look at specific problem areas.
  • Outstanding technical problem solving skills and a passion to solve hard problems.
  • Exceptional communication skills which includes clear written and verbal communication as well as the ability to listen effectively.
  • Demonstrated excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to pick up new technologies easily and quickly.
  • Familiar with software and hardware test methodology and defect tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Excellent technical writing and communications skills.

Sr. Engineer, ODU/Microwave Radio System Design

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Has thorough knowledge of microwave digital radio design and development.
  • Responsible for the design, development, and qualification of new products and manufacturing support of existing products.
  • Analyze design to characterize performance and provide data and revise designs to achieve product performance and goals.
  • Responsible for evaluating test equipment and processing equipment used in production, for diagnosing problems and directing repairs, tuning/testing products, and documenting design and test procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Qualified candidates must have thorough knowledge of microwave digital radio design and development, communication theory and practices.
  • Must also be familiar with ETSI and FCC regulatory requirements; be proficient in digital radio test methods and use of test equipment, with thorough knowledge of communication analysis/synthesis tools such as AWR-VSS.
  • This senior level position requires leadership skills to take the lead on design projects and coordinate efforts of various support groups.
  • Requirements include BSEE and a minimum of five years design experience in RF or a related field. Limited travel may be required.

ATE/Test Engineer

Contract position 3-6 Months to support Automated Testing Capability for Eng, NPI, & Production.

The Automation Test Engineering development efforts will be performed concurrently with the Product Design Engineering to expedite time to market on updates to existing products and introduction of new products.

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, document, debug and configure Automated Test Stations, write test procedures,
  • Work with design engineering to transition new products into production test, and to train technicians.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Candidates must have thorough knowledge and understanding of RF and microwave test equipment including signal generators, power meters, scalar and vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Should be able to read and correlate schematic diagrams with layout drawings and understand the basic operation of an electrical circuit from its schematic diagram.
  • Candidate must be self motivated with a can do attitude and willing to support all phases of the project with limited supervision.
  • Must have proven experience in Test system design, including RF Cascade analysis. Experience with 6-40GHz Test development utilizing waveguide and coaxial components desired.
  • Must have experience developing test scripts using Lab View. Experience with “TestStand”, C++ and/or Visual Basic, a plus.
  • BSEE and 3 years experience in a Test Automation and Software Engineering role in an RF Microwave discipline.
