Component/Reliability Engineer

Main Purpose of Job

This position has the overall responsibility of selection and reliability of electronics (passive, active RF/Microwave) and mechanical parts (cables, connectors, PCBs) based on engineering design specifications.

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identifying and selecting RoHS compliant parts.
  • Developing and implementing an ongoing reliability validation and testing program.
  • Maintaining AVL, AML and parts documentation in company's ERP system.
  • Work with engineering to establish initial BOM's and identify potential supply problems based on lead-times, cost, and availability.
  • Lead investigations related to customer quality complaints for electronics and mechanical components.
  • New product reliability analysis including FMEA and MTBF based on parts count and field data.
  • Will review and analyze designs from the standpoint of quality and reliability.
  • Participate in design and peer reviews, and support the creation and effective use of FMEA and risk analyses.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing in parts selection, second sourcing, qualification testing.
  • Planning and conducting evaluations and statistical tests to solve complex problems involving components and system interdependences, reporting and analyzing failure data.
  • Participate in HALT, HASS testing as related to product reliability analysis and reporting

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Qualified candidates must have a strong background in component engineering and reliability testing methods to continually improve the quality of RF/microwave products.

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate excels in the design, development and qualification of products.
  • Support manufacture and test of existing products.
  •  Analyze designs to characterize performance and provide data. Revise designs as required to achieve product performance and product goals.
  • Evaluate and choose new devices to be used in existing products.
  • Evaluate test equipment and processing equipment used in production of the products.
  • Diagnose problems, direct repairs, tune and test products.
  • Document the design and the test procedures of the products.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of RF / Microwave, PA, LNA, Mixer, VCO, filter design

Engineer, Microwave Design IF/RF

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Supports the manufacture and test of existing products, analyzes designs to characterize performance and provide data, revises designs to achieve product performance and product goals, evaluates and chooses new devices to be used in existing products.
  • It is also responsible for evaluating test equipment and processing equipment used in production, diagnosing problems, directing repairs, tuning/testing products, and documenting design and test procedures.
  • Limited travel may be required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Candidates must have thorough knowledge of analog transistor level design, low noise opamp, and control circuit design and theory.
  • PLL, D/A, A/D and microcontroller design skills, and knowledge of RF/IF blocks used in transmitter and receivers cascade design and analysis, such as LNA, mixers, drivers up to 6GHz. Must also have knowledge of lumped element filter design and be proficient in RF test methods and use of test equipment.
  • Requirements include BSEE and a minimum of two years design experience in RF or a related field.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

  • We are currently searching for a seasoned RF/Microwave Design Engineer who has thorough knowledge of microwave digital radio design and development.
  • This position is responsible for the design, development, and qualification of new products and manufacturing support of existing products.
  • It analyzes design to characterize performance and provide data and revises designs to achieve product performance and goals.
  • It is also responsible for evaluating test equipment and processing equipment used in production, for diagnosing problems and directing repairs, tuning/testing products, and documenting design and test procedures.
  •  Limited travel may be required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Qualified candidates must have thorough knowledge of microwave digital radio design and development, communication theory and practices.
  • Must also be familiar with ETSI and FCC regulatory requirements, be proficient in digital radio test methods and use of test equipment, with thorough knowledge of communication analysis/synthesis tools such as AWR-VSS.
  • This position requires leadership skills to take the lead on design projects and coordinate efforts of various support groups.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum 5 years design experience in RF or related field.

RF Design Engineer, VCO

Main Purpose of Job

Develop and design new products to specification, modify the performance of existing products to meet new requirements, and to perform design work in support of manufacturing.

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing revisions to achieve product performance and goals, evaluating and selecting new devices for use in existing products, diagnosing problems, directing repair strategies, testing and tuning products, and documenting design and test procedures.
  • Performs circuit analysis and optimization using computer aided design tools, reviews customer designs, develops cost models, and participates in the development and implementation of departmental product and technology strategies.
  • Lead a design project by developing plans to meet project deadlines and coordinating the efforts of various support groups.
  • Identify and solve technical problems using complex software and mathematical techniques.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Candidates must have a thorough working knowledge of VCO design principals from 2 to 40 GHz, design experience in low phase noise, immunity to phase hits and microphonics techniques, and design experience in both fractional and integer phase lock loop principals and practices.
  • Must be proficient in RF and Microwave design concepts, theories, and practices
  • Must be proficient in test methods and the use of test equipment
  • Must be proficient in the use of analysis/synthesis tools (AWR, HFSS, CST).

Senior Power Supply Technician

Main Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Tune complex electronic components, assemblies and sub-assemblies to established frequencies
  • Set-up and calibrate test stations,.
  • Perform in-process and final electronic verification tests according to written test procedures, and maintain test documentation.
  • Tasks also include troubleshooting and taking corrective action when necessary.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Familiar with fundamental analogue and digital circuits and components, with emphasis on power conversion, active control loops and RF.
  • Ability to read engineering documentation including Circuit Schematic Drawing, Acceptance Test Specification, Assembly Drawing, Mechanical Piece Part Drawing,Bill of Material (BOM), and Approved Vendor List(AVL).
  • Familiar with measurement equipment including: Oscilliscope, Spectrum Analyzer, DVM, Electronic Load, Scaler and Network Analyzer desired but not required.
  • Knowledgeable in electronics prototyping tools and techniques, including the use of common hand fabrication tools.
  • Capable of working from minimal documentation such as rough schematic and part list to created prototype circuits.
  • Capable of analyzing production circuits for the purpose of failure analysis and stress levels.
  • Capable of tracing circuits from existing hardware and generating associated schematics a plus.

Job Experience

At least 10 years relevant electronics experience is required.
